Today is the day
the world holds its breath…
waiting–again–
for the dawn of a new time.
It came once before
in the birth of a child
laid in a feeding trough
and worshiped by shepherds.
Who knew this child
would turn the world upside down?
Who knew this child
would bring light into darkness?
