I had read Nick Vujicic’s autobiography earlier and was impressed by his strong testimony, so when I saw a book of devotionals by him, I decided it might be worth reading as well–and it was.
Unfortunately, I sometimes feel as though I am being “preached at” by some devotional books, but these short messages are easy to read…draw from his own life experience…and pulled me in, sometimes encouraging me, sometimes challenging, sometimes comforting.
Each one begins with a Bible verse–mostly from The Message, so they are contemporary. Then Nick adds his devotions, and closes each one with a one- or two-sentence thought. They are short enough that they work well for either a morning or evening devotional time.
It would be possible to spend about two months reading through the devotions if you read one a day (there are 50), but sometimes you simply want to read more.
I am always looking for meditation and devotional books for retreats that I help lead, and this book is definitely going into the stack that I take.
