Ken Follett is not an author whose books I have gotten into. I’ve tried–but they just didn’t keep my attention. However…
My brother asked if I had read one–Pillars of the Earth. I hadn’t–hadn’t even heard of it. But John suggested I might find it interesting…he had read it and could hardly put it down. So I thought I’d see if I could find it at the library.
I did–and I could hardly put it down either! When I finished it, I looked for (and checked out) World without End–a follow-up to the first one. They both deal with life in a cathedral town in England, two centuries apart. The first book deals with the building of the cathedral and how the lives of two families become intertwined. The second deals with their descendants and the Black Death and how all of that is connected with the cathedral.
I love to read in bed before I go to sleep, and all I can say is that these books made my bedtime later and later! Well worth reading!!
